Meet the Family Behind Lawndale Farm

Person Picking Green Cabbage

Lawndale Farm, overlooking the scenic Merrimack River in Tyngsborough, MA, is where nature and traditions endure. It has been a cornerstone of the community for over a century, offering fresh fruits, vegetables, and plants. But who are the owners of Lawndale Farm?

Kenneth Times Sr. and His Mother, Dorothy

Everything started when Kenneth Times Sr. and his mother, Dorothy, purchased the land in 1921. They used it for modest dairy operations with about 50 cows and only had five acres of vegetables.

The two knew the value of hard work and dedication, which they passed on to the next generations of the Times family. Now, we have Lawndale Farm, spanning over 30 acres of fresh vegetables and 25 acres of high-quality hay and straw bales!

While dairy farming is no longer our primary focus, we still honor its roots with a beloved pet cow named Sloppy. Eventually, beehives producing delicious, golden honey joined the production team.

Doug and the Times Family

Carrying on the legacy, Doug and his family oversee the day-to-day operations of Lawndale Farm. Beloved figures among farm visitors, the unit works tirelessly to maintain the farm stand, which opens from mid-July through Christmas. Even when it closes for the season, honey, hay, and straw bales remain available year-round.

Sustainability is at the core of Lawndale Farm’s practices. Doug and his family implement responsible farming techniques to preserve the land, ensuring the farm stays a source of nourishment, education, and joy forever.

As the Lawndale Farm Owners

Lawndale Farm may look different today than in 1921, but the Times family still has the same core values. What are our promises?

Preserved Open Spaces

We intend to keep the farm as an open, working farm rather than turning it into developed land. Tyngsborough will continue to have green space where people can connect with nature!

Local Products

Lawndale Farm is proud to support local agriculture. Our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Share program allows members to enjoy fresh, seasonal produce straight from the farm. As the holidays approach, the farm transforms into a winter wonderland, with wreaths, garlands, and fresh-cut Christmas trees.

Niche Varieties

The Times family is constantly experimenting with new and unique produce varieties. You can access specialty crops you can’t find in typical grocery stores.

Fresh Air

Lawndale Farm lets you take a deep breath of crisp, clean air. With wide-open fields, scenic landscapes, and a peaceful setting, the farm is an escape from the hustle and bustle.

Family-Friendly Fun

Lawndale Farm is a place for families to create memories. We host different events and activities, including weddings, birthday parties, and field trips. You can also come to pick your own tomatoes and pumpkins, try hayrides, and join cornfield treasure hunts!
